Display Name: Sage-Grouse Local Implementation Teams (LITs)
Description: This data layer depicts the boundaries of Oregon's Sage-Grouse Local Implementation Teams (LITs). The 2011 Oregon Sage-Grouse Conservation Assessment and Strategy (Conservation Assessment) identified five Local Implementation Teams and directed the implementation of cross-boundary conservation actions outlined in the Conservation Assessment to be led by the LITs (ODFW, 2011). The LITs include a mix of public and private entities, and because the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is the primary land manager, LITs are based on BLM District boundaries. This data layer approximately reflects Oregon BLM District Boundaries, clipped to the extent of greater sage-grouse range in Oregon. The LIT boundaries were created by the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife and the SageCon Partnership to serve as a guide and communication tool to support local planning efforts. For various reasons, these boundaries will not always reflect local priorities; therefore, members of each LIT may work with those in neighboring LIT areas to determine where opportunities exist for overlap across LIT boundaries.
