The Social Vulnerability Index (SVI) map layer was created to identify communities in Oregon that may lack the resources to prepare for and recover from wildfire relative to other communities in the state. This map layer follows the methodologies of the Centers for Disease Control Social Vulnerability Index and relies on US Census Bureau 5 year ACS data as proxies for elements believed to be related to social vulnerability.
